Matt Trub, aerial cinematographer, with HDaerial Inc. was excited to be a part of the Odfjell production. Aerial footage was shot in December of 2013, using the new Cineflex Elite platform and Alexa camera. Much of the footage was captured 60 miles offshore from the Port of Houston in the Gulf of Mexico. The Cineflex Elite houses the ARRI ALEXA Super 35 camera and Canon 4k Digital Cinema Zoom lenses into the 5 axis gyro-stabilized Cineflex for an extremely stable image in most weather conditions. Onboard recording is available to SxS Pro Media cards, and 3G single or dual link for ARRIRAW capture. Action scenes can now be filmed with high speed rates up to 120 frames per second. Lens choices include 14.5-60mm and 30-300mm zooms. The Canon Digital Cinema Zoom lenses provide versatility and impeccable optics. With onboard recording inside the helicopter and instant playback, maximum flight times can be achieved without the need to land the helicopter to reload film magazines or digital media. The ARRI ALEXA extends the value of aerial filming production by simultaneously recording ARRIRAW 2880 x 1620 files to a Gemini 444 and Apple ProRes 1080p to SxS media. Recording options include SxS 64Gb Pro Media, Gemini 444 ARRIRAW digital recorder, Sony HDCAM SR, AJA KiPro, and the NanoFlash. Other record decks available upon request. The Cineflex Elite is effanicient choice for lowering aerial filming production expenses. The lightweight Cineflex Elite system is less expensive to ship, than other gyro stabilized systems. The Cineflex Elite can be mounted on most aircraft including the Astar AS350 and Twinstar AS355, Bell 206 Jet Ranger, Bell 206L Long Ranger, Bell 407, and the Robinson R44. The Cineflex Elite can be rigged in one third the time it takes to rig Super 35 format digital camera systems. In-camera Recording;Apple QuickTime/ProRes 4444, 422 (HQ), 422, 422 (LT) or 422 (Proxy) 1080p .mov files with embedded timecode and metadata recording to SxS PRO cards. , Aerial Cinematographer, with HDaerial Inc. was excited to be a part of the corporate aerial filming for the Odfjell production. Aerial footage was shot in December of 2013, using the new Cineflex Elite platform and Alexa camera. Thanks to aerial film pilot Bob Spradlin, much of the aerial footage was captured 60 miles offshore from the Port of Houston in the Gulf of Mexico. Nothing is more dramatic than a beautiful freighter at work in the middle of the ocean. The Cineflex Elite flawlessly captured men at work on the decks, a beautiful sunset with level horizon, aerials of the Port of Houston and downtown Houston. All of this corporate aerial footage was captured in one day. To accomplish this, aerial coordination with the ship’s crew, the ground crew, the client and the FAA were critical.

HDaerial excels at aerial coordination. Solid aerial coordination will make the difference between a really successful aerial project and a mediocre aerial project. HDaerial has identified qualified aerial film pilots and helicopters that can handle the proper gyro stabilized camera system for the job at hand regardless of where in the world the aerial job takes place.
